Fashion Meets Fragrance: Exploring Henrik Vibskov’s ‘Lotus Dust Red’ with Magda Boutique

It’s no secret that alongside my love for perfumes, I’m also passionate about fashion. So, when Margo, the owner of Magda Boutique, invited me to review some perfumes she recently introduced to her store, I was beyond excited!

I’ve known Margo for a few years now, and although I’m not a regular client, every visit to her boutique feels like a warm welcome. She always takes an interest in my perfume journey, and I love hearing her fascinating stories from the fashion world (and trying on new clothes of course ;)). Over the years, I’ve bought a few standout pieces from Magda Boutique —clothing that not only gives me compliments but also serves as capsule staples in my wardrobe. The quality is simply top-notch!

Now, Magda Boutique has decided to expand by introducing perfumes, and they wanted my take on them. I am starting with Henrik Vibskov's 'Lotus Dust Red'.

'Lotus Dust Red' opens with bright citrusy notes, complemented by delicate floral and tea-like nuances. It quickly transitions into an aquatic, musky base enriched with creamy sandalwood. When I wear this scent, it instantly transports me to hot summer days by the beach - though not in a tropical paradise, but perhaps somewhere more understated.

Despite its fresh character, its longevity surprised me. It stayed on my skin for 5–6 hours, which exceeded my expectations for this type of fragrance. While it may not be the most groundbreaking scent on the market, it has a charm that keeps you returning to your wrist for another sniff.

Lotus Dust Red gave me subtle Bvlgari vibes, especially reminiscent of their tea-inspired perfumes. I think this perfume has an easy-going and familiar vibe and that makes it a great pick for anyone who loves fresh, fuss-free scents with a cozy touch.

Have you ever heard of this brand? What fashion brand would you love to see create perfume next?
