Last weekend, I hosted a spring-inspired perfume accord-making workshop. Participants explored raw materials, niche scents, and the fundamentals of creating their own accords. From building a crisp apple note to creating a scent of rose or strawberry, lots was going on!
We worked with professional tools (like real scientists in the lab!), trained our noses with natural extracts and synthetics, and discovered how technical knowledge and intuition come together in scent creation.
Some highlights:
• Learning how jasmine absolute differs from its synthetic counterparts.
• Creating apple scent from scratch without a single drop of real fruit!
• Smelling each other’s blends and evaluating what’s missing and what to improve.
• Having a little bit of chaos and a lot of fun (reflected in the pictures, hahaha)!
Personally, it is very rewarding to see people dive into perfumery for the first time and leave with curiosity, confidence, and their own unique perfume accord creation.
Thank you to everyone who joined, smelled, blended, and shared!
If you’d like to join a future session or collaborate on a scent experience: let’s connect!
